Welcome to our website. As commoners, Mike and Carole have been involved with the breeding of New Forest ponies for the past 30 years, but our experience in the training and handling of equines extends over some 55 years. Twenty years ago we were joined by our daughter Fiona, who now takes an active role in the day-to-day duties of managing our animals. She has acquired her own prefix ‘Kingsrew’, and has been breeding her own stock for a number of years
We have strived to promote and enhance the image of the New Forest pony over this time, as in recent years the breed had gone into a decline, and as a result, prospective buyers had looked elsewhere for their riding, and show ponies. The Breed Society, and Pony Publicity Group, the latter of which we were founder members, worked tirelessly to promote the ponies around the country, and did indeed; achieve huge successes in promoting the breed. As a result, the market is again buoyant, and a demand now exists for our wonderfully versatile animals. Two years ago saw the Pony Publicity Group disbanded, as it was deemed that it had achieved as much as it could in furthering the breed through its contacts. The NFPB & CS, and New Forest Pony Enthusiasts club, will still continue to be the mainstay in promoting the breed.
Our aim is to produce quiet, well-handled youngsters that have been fully weaned from their dams, eating a diet of good hard food and hay. All foals and youngstock will have received a full course of worming. All of our youngsters are halter broken to a point sufficient for the new owner to be able to interact with their new acquisition. To comply with current legislation, all stock will have a full Breed Society passport, and will be microchipped.
Carole is also very involved with her Patchwork & Quilting, and has made many beautiful quilts, cushions, and handbags. Samples of her work can be viewed under the 'Patchwork & Quilting' menu button.
